Here's the steps:
- Press Menu, then Mono followed by the Up button 4 times. This should bring you to Maintenance Mode.
- Press Up/Down and look for the following (the panel should display individual numbers):
- 8 then press OK.
- 0 then press OK.
- Press Mono until you see "Purge xxxxx". "xxxxx" should be a set of numbers.
- Again, press the Up button and look for the following:
- 2 then press OK.
- 7 then press OK.
- 8 then press OK.
- 3 then press OK.
- The control panel should display "Purge 00000". Press Exit.
- Finally, press Up/Down button and look for the following:
- 9 then press OK.
- 9 then press OK. This exits Maintenance Mode. The printer should reinitialize.
Some may notice this is almost identical to the waste reset instructions I posted for DCP-130C. In fact, it just has some minor omissions. Brother printers seem to have a more or less standard method for resetting the waste counter.
