Disabling Conduit toolbar in Firefox

Conduit toolbar usually gets installed with ad supported software. That's fine.

The problem is when you attempt to uninstall it, it refuses to politely oblige. Particularly, in Firefox it sets itself up as the default search engine when you type a search term directly in the awesome bar with no apparent way of switching back to Google.

Here's how to get things back to normal.

  1. Browse to about:config.
  2. Search for conduit.
  3. Right click then select reset from the context menu for each of the configuration entries found.

Your Firefox should be back to normal again.
