Keeping openSUSE 11.4 up-to-date

Searching for apps is just like Windows Vista/7
Just as Ubuntu uses Update Manager to keep the system updated, so does openSUSE employ its own update tool: KPackageKit. With search baked right into the Gecko button (sorry, I have no idea what it's officially called) it's easy to find. Just type "update" into the search field.

Updating in progress

Available updates are listed and you can choose which ones you want just like in Ubuntu. The difference here is Ubuntu selects all updates by default while openSUSE seems to be taking the opposite stance. Just select the updates, click Apply, and confirm your updates. After that, it's a matter of waiting for the updates to download and install.
