Installing the beta Ambiance theme on Ubuntu 10.04

Lucid Lynx introduced a pair of new themes for Ubuntu: Ambiance and Radiance. With Maverick Meerkat these two themes are undergoing improvements. Radiance isn't quite ready for testing yet, but Ambiance already has a beta available for testers. There's light and dark versions of Ambiance available. Here's how to install them on Lucid for use without needing to upgrade to the under development Maverick.

~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:murrine-daily/ppa
~$ sudo apt-get update
~$ sudo apt-get install light-themes

Once installed, restart Ubuntu so the new murrine engine gets loaded. Head over to System->Preferences->Appearance and select either Ambiance beta or Ambiance dark beta.

Update: The beta Radiance theme is now available and Ambiance Dark is no longer listed among the themes.
